HIGH SCHOOL CREATIVE ABILITY AWARDS
Certificates are presented to talented Senior High
School students in recognition of creative talent demonstrated in Art,
Dance, Drama, Literature, Music and Musical Theatre. An engraved
Jefferson Cup is presented to the student who is the outstanding
creative senior student.
LUCILLE CAUDILL LITTLE
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Financial scholarship grants are made to deserving young artists in five artistic disciplines. Recipients are selected by member nominations at the discretion of the Kentucky Chapter's Executive Board.
THE MARY EVELYN ROGERS AWARD
Recognition of exceptional motivation and talent is
awarded to young musicians and vocalists. Nominations from members,
community, friends or family are all considered.
OUTSTANDING ART EDUCATOR
AWARD
This award was instituted in 1998 to recognize and
reward the work of dedicated mentors and teachers of young artists.
recipients are selected by an NSAL nominating committee.
THE KATHERINE CALDWELL MEMORIAL
AWARD
This award honors the memory of Kentucky Chapter member Katherine "Kitty" Caldwell, who was a faithful and generous patron of the arts in Lexington. Kitty attanded as many performances of all the arts that she possibly could, and gave great encouragement and support to young artists.
THE JARRESS TURNER SCHOLARSHIP
Established in 2005, the mission of the Jarress Turner Scholarship Fund is to encourage professional actors by providing access to training and much needed financial support, to increase cultural inclusion and growth by creating new performance opportunities, and to honor excellence in artistic performance. Recipients are selected from applications.
THE PEM KREMER MEMORIAL AWARD
This award was instituted in 2003 to support young writers and poets.
ARTIST PROMOTION
Performance opportunities in a variety of formats: showcases, gallery displays, and concerts provide a way to encourage and support young artists. NSAL Kentucky strives to provide a variety of resources, networking venues and mentorship possibilities to the developing artists of the Commonwealth.
BALLET UNDER THE STARS
This is an apparel scholarship awarded to a young dancer who is performing in the Pre-Show of "Ballet Under the Stars", an annual production by local and regional ballet dancers. This is in recognition of this developing artist's talent and hard work.
